School & Nutrition
Daily meals and a safe walk to school for children across rural Tanzania. Every gift ensures one more child starts the day fed and ready to learn.
Where your gift goes
Every shilling you give flows through one of three focused programmes — feeding children, supporting elders, or keeping kids in school.
Each programme is independently funded and reported on. Give to one or let AGS decide where the need is greatest.

Weekly visits, medicine, and warm meals for elders living alone. Every contribution ensures a neighbour is seen, heard, and cared for.
Stocking village food banks before the dry season. Your gift goes directly to grain, pulses, and cooking fuel for families facing hunger.
Hunger is the biggest barrier to education in rural Tanzania. When a child arrives at school without breakfast, they cannot concentrate, fall behind, and often drop out. AGS works with 37 schools to provide a daily meal — maize, beans, and vegetables — before the first lesson.
Our community cooks, trained and employed locally, prepare meals in school kitchens that AGS has helped build and equip. We also provide school supplies, uniforms for the most vulnerable, and a safe walking route programme staffed by trained volunteers.
In many Tanzanian communities, elders who outlive their families or whose families have moved to cities are left completely isolated. AGS trained volunteers visit each enrolled elder at least once a week — bringing food, medicine, and most importantly, company.
Visits include basic health checks, assistance with household tasks, and regular transportation to local clinics. Every elder is assigned a named volunteer who becomes their consistent point of contact, building a bond of trust that reduces isolation and improves wellbeing.
Tanzania's dry season — June through October — is when food reserves run out and families face their greatest hunger. The Harvest Fund pre-positions grain stores in 14 of the most vulnerable villages before the dry season begins, ensuring communities can eat through the difficult months.
We partner with local village councils and women's groups to manage distribution, ensuring food reaches the most vulnerable families first. Every purchase is documented, photographed, and reported to donors within 30 days.
